Fisher-Price Rock n' PlayThere has been a recent recall of the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play due to pressure from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) The product has been proven harmful to young children and is gaining the attention of parents across the nation.

The Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play has been tied to over 32 deaths between 2011 and 2018 which included babies younger than 3 months.  “We cannot put any more children’s lives at risk by keeping these dangerous products on the shelves,” said Rachel Moon, MD, FAAP, chair of the AAP Task Force on SIDS. “The Rock ‘n Play inclined sleeper should be removed from the market immediately.

The AAP does not recommend using inclined sleeping products such as the Rock ‘n Play or any other product for sleep that requires restraining a baby. Products such as strollers, car seats, or other devices used for sleep are not recommended by the AAP. Using one of these products as a sleeping device could result in suffocation or strangulation if the baby rolls or turns into an unsafe position and is unable to move.
