Joyce Zmuda, MD

Dr. Joyce Zmuda joined Delaware Pediatrics in 2013. She attended medical school at The State University of New York at Buffalo and went on to complete a pediatric residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Zmuda practiced general pediatrics in Maryland for 7 years before returning to Buffalo with her family.

Dr. Zmuda serves as the current President of the Buffalo Pediatric Society and will be finishing her term as Treasurer of the New York State Chapter 1 American Academy of Pediatrics. Professionally, she has a strong interest in population health and value-based care, both focused on achieving the best health outcomes for our community.  Her work as a medical director for Optimum Physician Alliance has allowed her to engage in clinical programs aimed at improving the quality of care.

At Delaware Pediatrics, Dr. Zmuda works closely with the care coordination team, ensuring that we provide the most comprehensive care to our patients and their families.  She is also the Delaware Pediatrics physician lead on an asthma initiative called Project Breathe.  This collaborative effort includes the Asthma Coalition of Erie, Monroe, and Niagara Counties along with the American Lung Association.  It focuses on the appropriate diagnosis and management of asthma.

Dr. Zmuda is the mother of twin daughters and the wife of Dr. Anthony Caterina.  They all live in Orchard Park with their West Highland Terrier, Lily.
